Crazy on You
Gonna go crazy on you.....craaaaazy on you. Gonna go crazy, crazy on yoooooooou ooooohhhhhooooo.....
Yes, that is an awesome song by Heart. But it's also what a few of my classmates are worried about at the reunion this Saturday! LMAO! They are fearful that "someone" is going to go bonkers and try to off us....you know "get revenge" on people from high school?? So, since I have a friend whose mom is psychic and I just made a new friend who is psychic, I consulted them both. I think we are safe. I'm really not worried but these girls got me thinking and made me a bit paranoid for a second!
So IF I survive my reunion....I'll report back here after Saturday!

20th HS Class Reunion

Me, Janet & Robyn during Senior Week May 1988
Alright so my 20th high school class reunion is right around the corner. I've been helping to plan it for almost a year now. I can't believe I was suckered into doing this! I've never even GONE to any of our previous reunions and I'm f'in in charge of finding these a-holes (lovingly I call them a-holes), the bank accounts, collecting the $$, updating the website, yada, yada, yada! How did this happen? It happened because I haven't worked since 8-29-07 and I had WAY too much time on my hands. I felt guilty not helping out. All I've been doing for the last year is taking care of our Penny, going to yoga, talking to old friends/classmates, working on this reunion, traveling and going to concerts! Actually now that I think about it....it's been a good year....minus OF COURSE losing our beloved and precious Penny on 8-2-08. But otherwise it's been pretty darn awesome not working and I wouldn't trade my time with Penny for anything in the world.
But this laziness is all going to end very soon. Since Penny is gone and I no longer have to care for her - I must go back to work. I have to pay for all our recent trips we took. First we went to LA in June for a week to see Billy Idol on Jimmy Kimmel Live and then travel up the coast. Then we went to South Florida for a week. Now we just got back from Vegas. So the bank account is feeling it..... Thankfully we didn't lose our asses in Vegas and came back ahead by about $30.00, which, in my opinion is great! Anytime you are ahead it's win win.
Ok, so back to the reunion. I can't wait to see everyone and catch up with all my old friends/classmates. It's funny how over time all those insecurities just fade away....at least they did for me. But honestly I think helping out with the reunion and going to all the reunion planning meetings really helped me get over my social anxieties. My husband isn't going to the reunion with me because I just don't think he would have a good time. He would be talking to himself all night! He is usually quiet in social settings anyway, unless he knows the people really well. So it's going to be a girls night with a lot of laughs and reminiscing. Oh and a lot of alcohol! It's funny, there are a ton of people not coming which I guess I understand. I didn't go to any previously but I always said I would go to my 20th. It's hard to believe it is now upon us. How can I be 37???!!

Las Vegas Sept 2008
Me & Brian Tichy (talented drummer for Billy Idol & sweet guy)
Ok, so we got back from Las Vegas yesterday and it was a total blast. Of course the Billy Idol concert was the highlight. The show was awesome except for some major problems with Hard Rock security and their lack of organizational skills with regards to the VIP passes. We SHOULD have been front row but ended up being 3rd row because of some dumbasses working the event security. Then of course there were the inevitable looped up beaaatches who as soon as Billy pays attention to the crowd, go all nutzos. They have these psycho, glazed over looks on their faces like they can't even see you. Then they try to go through you to get to Billy. LOL! But it didn't work at least around us. There are probably a couple of women/girls/things that I'm sure are wondering why they have multiple bruises on their arms and where the hell they got them from. So sorry..... ;)
I have my own bruise actually from some skinny, amazonian woman who was wearing stilletos....yes, Andre the Giantess stepped on my foot. It took all of my strength to keep a straight face and not roll around in agony on the floor crying like a baby.....like I so would have if I was home! It took me about 2 days to remember why the top of my left foot was hurting like hell! Then the good times all came rushing back....
After the show was over we went to the bogus Billy Idol "After Party" in the Wasted Space nightclub. It was wasted space alright....it was such total BS. They just "invited" you so you would go there and spend a small fortune on alcohol. I had my suspicions about it so I left and saw the band around the center bar in the casino. We met Brian Tichy (drummer), Steve Stevens (lead guitar god), Stephen McGrath (bass) & Derek Sherinian (keyboards) and a bunch of other cool people. We hung out with Brian for several hours and found out he was a really nice, down to earth guy. He's also a very talented song writer in addition to his talent on the drums & guitar. He wrote & co-wrote several of Billy's recent songs.
Well that was the last BFI concert for me this year....until next Spring when hopefully some new music will be out. According to those in the know, there will be. It was really great to meet a lot of the other Idol fans. They were all so nice and a ton of fun! I can't wait to meet up again at another concert. Here's a link to a video we took of the finale....enjoy!

Maine, Camp & Lobster Rolls

Me at Lobsterman's Wharf in Boothbay Harbor, ME in 2005
So my parents just got back from 5 days in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Which just so happens to be one of my all time favorite places in the country. My husband and I went there for part of our honeymoon way back in June of 93'. We've been back at least 4 times since. I went there with my parents as a child too. It's an absolutely picturesque place and so tranquil. Don't go there looking for nightlife though as it is basically non-existent. But if you like to browse in cute gift shops, eat, sail, walk, eat, shop, eat, oh and eat again then Boothbay is the place for you!
It was my parents 40th anniversary on September 6th. Hard to believe! I remember when it was their 25th anniversary, which was the same year I was married! I cannot be 37 years old and my parents cannot be 70 & 73! But they are doing great and I am so glad they were able to go to Maine for their 40th.
My parents passed on their love of New England to me as a kid. They sent me to camp in Grantham, New Hampshire. The camp is a YMCA camp called Camp Coniston and was one of "the" best experiences of my life and I'm so grateful my parents sent me. I didn't want to go at first but after I got there I didn't want to leave. I went for 2 weeks out of the summer during my middle school years. I went two summers but I wish I could have gone every summer of my childhood. My parents thought I would be homesick but heck no! I only missed our sweet Irish setter Kelly! All my letters would say "How is Kelly? Tell her I miss her and give her a kiss & a hug for me!" I couldn't wait to get home to her....can you tell I'm a dog person??
The BEST part of my parents going to Maine was the fact that they brought home TWO POUNDS OF LOBSTER MEAT so that my husband and I could make lobster rolls. If you've never tried one, then you must drive or fly to Maine TODAY and have one! In my opinion, it is the single best thing you could taste in your entire life. And don't get one unless you are in Maine or know how to properly make them at home. Well you "could" go to Pearl Oyster Bar in NYC and get one as they are authentic there.... No lettuce, no celery, no onion.....JUST pure lobster meat and a small amount of mayo (no yucky miracle whip please!) on a toasted & buttered New England style hot dog roll. The roll is a must! And you can only get these special rolls in New England and sometimes other areas in the summer....of course my parents brought some back for us.
Alright well that's about it for today. Gotta go get my hair colored/highlighted for Vegas. Then I'll be off to the damn mall again for some dreaded Vegas outfit shopping. Then tonight I have my final (yay!) reunion planning meeting....oh yes I'm majorly helping plan my 20th high school reunion coming up in about 2.5 weeks. That's a whole other post.....Later.

BFI and Vegas

Las Vegas Strip
Alright so my best friend Robyn, my husband and I will be off to Las Vegas this Wednesday. Can't wait! It will be mine and my husband's first visit there. We're not big gamblers but HELLO Robyn is! You can't pull her away from the slot machines. But the MAIN reason we are going is because BFI (Billy F'in Idol) is going to be playing the Joint at the Hard Rock on Friday. We're gonna get there early and stake out our spot even though we do have "front-of-the-line passes"..... But we want to be as front to the front of the line line as possible! LOL! But we know many other Idol fans will be there as well, which is going to be so great to hang out with them and meet them for the very first time.BFI looking right at the camera in Baltimore
at Pier Six on 8-22-08!!
So today bought a new smaller ditigal camera just for the occasion. It better take great night shots at the concert. Oh and they better let cameras in too....yeah that would be a big help. Billy is really good about letting people bring cameras in as long as you don't use a flash. Of course I will post the pics and a full review here when we get back. I can only imagine what shenanigans will go on out there especially with the Idol fans after the show.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day as it will be filled with shopping for an outfit for the concert as well as the other nights in Vegas. Somehow I have it in my head that I have to wear platform shoes, sequins (or something glittery) and fake eyelashes out there....which is WaaaaY out of my comfort zone! Should be an awful sight! Oh well it will be fun. It will definitely be different than my uniform of either sweatpants, t-shirt and tennis shoes OR jeans, polo and sandals! At least no one will know me....
Here's a link to a video of Billy when he was out in Vegas at Mandalay Bay Beach in 2005....I love it!!

Opening Post

Ok, so this is my first post. I'm gonna try this blog thing out and see how it goes.... I have touble sleeping so thought maybe getting out the thoughts in my head might help with the insomnia bit.
I'm 37 years old and have been married for the last 15 years to a very sweet guy. We have no children as of yet but we haven't ruled out that adventure so far but who knows honestly. We are huge animal lovers and lost our beloved irish setter Penny on 8/2/08. She was our life but I know one day we'll see her again in Heaven. But quite honestly if Penny isn't in Heaven....we don't wanna go!!
